Chik-Fil-A Lunch time Madness
So I know that long lines at Chik-fil-a during the lunch hour are nothing new, but is it just me or are they getting worse? I get it that this fast food chain is a popular spot. I frequent there often, myself. While I used to be one to wait in that long drive-thru line, I have graduated to parking and going inside and taking my food to-go. This used to be an efficient way to get my delicious lunch in a timely manner. This was not the case for me yesterday.
Now first and foremost, don't get me wrong...the staff working at Chik-fil-A could not be any better. They are some of the nicest people and hard workers in Abilene (from what I have seen). But there isn't much else one can do when you you've got a line of people out-the-door and cars stretched out on Southwest Drive.
Now, I have been to one other Chik-fil-A in Abilene (inside the Mall) but on a lunch break, I'm not going to go to the Mall. Now the third location in Abilene, I have never been.
But if you're a chik-fil-a fan like me, I'm thinking Abilene could use another Chik-fil-A restaurant with a drive-thru. What are your thoughts? I think it would be a profitable business for whoever has the money upfront to start one. Much easier said then done, I know. ; )

I totally agree!!!
ReplyDeleteChik-fil-a is simply the best fast food chicken, period. I, for one, was glad to see the second one open up! However, with the opening of said store, coupled with the latest opening, you get more and more people who never frequented the mall to get their "chik-fix" - epitome of supply and demand.
ReplyDeleteWith all of that said, I think that the lines are getting ridiculous at the one on Southwest Drive. Granted, most of the time, they are pretty quick even if the lines are long. Recently - not so much. I think that the lines that would be created were not taken into consideration when this store was constructed. Now, not only do you have a line outside of the parking lot of people going to eat there, but also the people simply going down SW drive are having to wait as well. I have witnessed more than a few "road rage" warriors at said location.
Something should be done in my opinion. Nothing, however, can take away from that juicy delicious chicken...mmmmmmmmm

I thought one was going to be built by the Northside Walmart but have not heard anymore about it.
ReplyDelete3rd location???
ReplyDeleteSome people I was talking to say that there is a chik-fil-A located in some building in downtown. I have yet to find it though.
ReplyDeleteBut a Chik-fil-A on the north side of town wouldn't be a bad idea.
The is one downtown in the tall Bank of America Building where Ally Cats was. Very Limited Menu
